We are once again witnesses to genocide

In all my life, nothing has impacted my mind, and perhaps my heart, more greatly than the heartbreaking image of the drowned Syrian refugee child.  It personifies all that is evil and mad in this world. It is so terribly painful to see! It evokes every moment of one's life when one is made to feel powerless; unable to confront evil.

From the first second it appeared on my display, I wished to avoid it, but in the maw of the media's lust for news, it keeps appearing in the news cycle and on Facebook, again and again. I should pray that we all have not become masochists.

Pity the poor parents who felt disposed to take terrible and perhaps foolish risks and condemn the predators who are benefiting from their desperation.

Thousands of people, soon to be followed by many more thousands, are voting with their feet, while Muslim regimes throughout the world remain silent and unmoved.

The root cause for the greatest migration of people since World War II: Madness and murder, war and unmitigated privation of every description.

One is left to rail against Russia and Iran, who are complicit in mass murder by gas and oil-drum bombs, by supporting a Syrian regime committed to unmitigated slaughter of its own people. We are once again witnesses to genocide. An indictment that must come from the World Court demanding Assad's arrest and prosecution for crimes against humanity, is long overdue.

Christian and Jews in Hungary, a country well conditioned to overlords from Nazi Germany and the USSR during and after WWII, are not acting sacrificially toward the refugee strangers suddenly in their midst, despite those religious commandments to do otherwise. (I shall refrain from quoting Holy Scripture familiar to many).  Common humanity demands more of them.

God Bless all those who are accepting the refugees; especially those looking to their immediate needs; the greeters at railway stations, the givers of the essentials to survive—knowing full well they are assisting a greater Muslim presence in their lands, and a burden each person on this planet will ultimately suffer for this man-made catastrophe of monumental proportions.
