GUN RUNNING TO MEXICO

The only thing “fast and furious” about the program alleged to have begun in order to trace carloads of weapons and ammunition to cartel bosses in Mexico is the continuing cover up.

Eric Holder was sworn in as U.S. Attorney General on February 4, 2009.  Before that, he was Deputy Attorney General under Janet Reno. So, the gun-walk performed by Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives operatives took place during his watch.

Recapitulation: Gun-walking was supposed to be a forbidden practice of the United States Justice Department, but ever since December of 2010, little factoids have leaked out about something code-named “Fast and Furious.”  It should have been called “Dopey and Dangerous.”

Since it was revealed that a young Border Patrolman was murdered near the Arizona-Mexico border,  I have attempted to imagine scenarios whereby Illegal guns and ammo could be traced to cartel kingpins. As I understand it, someone in the chain of command neglected to secrete anything on the weapons that would possibly assist in doing so.

Furthermore, I keep getting different sets of numbers when I Google supposedly competent sources.  I cannot nail down just how many guns were sold to the bad guys. Mexico claims that there were thousands.

If Operation Fast and Furious was devised to help the vicious cartel gangs kill each other off, it is succeeding to a degree that is beyond imagining.

Despite assertions by Mr. Holder that all possible questions have been asked and answered, not one person I know of is willing or able fit the pieces together.
